Supply and delivery of Reference Books

1. This invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business of September 29, 2007.
2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Rural Capacity Building Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the supply of reference Books.
3. The Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development Procurement, Finance and Property Administration Directorate now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Supply and Delivery of the following reference books,

1. Bidding will he conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's guidelines:. Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
2. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding document at the address given below during working days from 9:00 to 12:00 am and from 2:00 to 5:00 pm (local time).
3. A complete set of bidding documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address stated below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee 150 Birr (One Hundred Fitly Birr) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash/cashier cheque. The bidding documents will be sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who send a crossed bank draft of Birr 500 (Five Hundred Birr) or USD 35.00 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency in addition to the price of the bid, documents to the address given below. However, the Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development will not take any responsibility for late or non-delivery of the bidding documents sent by mail. No extension in bid submission date is permitted on this account.
4. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 pm on August 25, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/representative who choose to attend in the address below at 2:30 pm on August 25, 2010.
